About this listing
A four hour workshop for bargaining committees, stewards, co-op boards and anyone who has to sit across a table from somebody holding a spreadsheet.
What we cover. How a wage survey is built and where the joints are. Benchmark job matching, with a live exercise using your own job descriptions. Means, medians and percentiles, and why the choice is never innocent. Sample frames, nonresponse and why your 62 out of 340 might be fine or might be worthless. Reading a staffing model and finding the assumption that carries all the weight. How to ask for the underlying data and what to do when they refuse.
It is not a lecture. People work through real documents in pairs for about half the time, and I bring redacted studies from past engagements if you do not have one of your own to use. Everyone leaves with the workbook and a checklist.
Up to 25 people. Price shown covers the session, materials for everyone, and travel anywhere in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois or upper Michigan. Beyond that add travel at cost. I do evenings and Saturdays, which is usually when people can actually come.
Book at least three weeks out. In January and February I fill up fast, so ask early or plan for the autumn.
