Everything here comes out of my own 140 colonies in the mountains west and north of Asheville. I do not buy honey in to resell and I do not blend across yards, so a jar of Leicester sourwood tastes like Leicester and a jar from Sandy Mush does not.
Sourwood is the one people drive for. It runs late June into July, only above about 2,000 feet, and only if the rain holds off for the ten days that matter. Some years I have 1,400 pounds. In 2022 I had 260. When it is gone it is gone until next July, and I would rather sell out honestly than stretch it with poplar and call it sourwood.
Nucs and queens come from survivor stock I have selected here since 2018 on overwintering, temperament and mite load. I cap nuc sales at 90 a season because that is what I can raise properly.
Pickup in West Asheville. Honey ships anywhere in the country. Bees do not ship, they get picked up, and I will hand them to you myself.
