Three things we sell outside of a full rehab contract. The first is the assessment. Two hours in a house before you buy it, and a written report you can hand to your lender or your agent. It is the cheapest money anybody spends on a rowhouse. The second is cornice and exterior trim work. It is the piece of this work most crews will not touch, and it is the piece that decides whether a block looks cared for or looks finished. The third is material. When we gut a house we pull the heart pine joists and flooring, sticker it, and sell it by the board foot. It is 120 year old old growth pine, and it is going to a dumpster otherwise.
